DEFENDING champion Matthew Colcombe bowed out of the Halifax, Huddersfield Junior Matchplay championship, beaten on his home course at Longley Park by Willow Valley’s Lewis Howell.
Howell, who won a close encounter on the last green, now meets Elland's Nicolas Marsh in the final of the Bramleys sponsored event at Halifax (Ogden) on August 31.
Marsh had a comfortable passage to the final as another Longley Park player, John Doherty, also lost out on home territory in the second semi-final.
