WONDERFUL weather provided excellent conditions for the Bradley Park Ladies Open.

As in other local competitions held recently, the golfers took full advantage of the extra roll and excellent condition of the greens to post good scores.

In the end, it was the Woodsome Hall quartet of Rosie Cleave, Sue Durrans, Janice Mudd and Louise Field who triumphed with an impressive score of 125.

They beat the team of Olwyne Hornby, Tracey Ward, Bev Robinson (all Elland) with Bradley Park’s Sheila Blackwell by seven points.

One point behind in third place were Carole Hampson, Barbara Horrocks, Kath Hitchcock and Jane Longbottom, of Crow Nest Park.

Nearest the pin was Cleckheaton’s Christine Cole and nearest the line was a dead heat between Pauline Ward, of West End, and Annette Jowett, Bradley Park.

Unusually, both hit balls which finished exactly on the line.
