TEENAGE gymnast Erin McLachlan is Yorkshire Junior Open Champion.

Having helped the Scottish team win a bronze medal in the UK School Games in Sheffield, the 13-year-old from Meltham swept all before her in the county event.

A classy performance on all four apparatus resulted in Erin taking all the titles, becoming Yorkshire champion on bars, beam, floor and vault.

Her strong performance ensured she also became overall Yorkshire Junior champion with a margin of victory of almost four marks.

Erin now has to return to the gym and increase her difficulty levels to ensure she can remain competitive in the future.

She is also making regular trips to train with both the Scottish National Squad and the British National Squad.

Erin and her family greatly appreciate the support she is receiving from her school, Honley High, who are assisting her in managing her school work and a training schedule, which requires over 22 hours per week in the gym.
