HEAVY rain made the course for the Cinnamon Lodge trail race at Meltham very difficult.
Eight Holmfirth Harriers turned out on a very wet and muddy 10k course with Jon Burdon the first club runner home in 20th position in a time of 45 minutes 50 seconds.
Lesley Ewart had a great run as first lady back and first Over 55 in 39th position in 50.39.
Karen Sinkinson was second lady back and first in the Over 50 category in 44th place clocking 52.20.
The other runners to complete the course were Garreth Humphries (27th in 46.47), Marwan Khouery (29th in 47.17), Sean Doyle (50th in 54-27) and Julie Harrison (63rd in 59.28).
Harrison was the third member of the Holmfirth ladies team who took the team prize and it marked her first success in a race.
And there was a fine first place for Tim Cock in the Over 70 section, and 56th overall, in a time of 58.29.
