Emily Tinsley from Shepley is back with a bang!
After three months of injury worries – she was on crutches after suffering a stress fracture in a foot, in addition to having a hip re-aligned – she bounced back in style.
Emily missed most of the outdoor season and also the English Schools’ Championships, but she started training again only in July after getting the all clear from her physio.
She was fit enough to compete in the U17/U15 Northern Championships, however, and took part in both the high jump and pole vault.
In the high jump she took a superb silver medal and then, in the pole vault, she went one better by taking gold to become Northern champion – a title to be proud of, especially after the rehab she has undergone.
Emily is now looking forward to the National Championships at Bedford on August 30 and 31.
