Huddersfield could have three boxing champions next month.

The British board have sanctioned an English light-welterweight title clash between Tyrone Nurse and Londoner Lenny Daws – and it could take place on the big James DeGale bill at Bluewater’s Glow Arena on Saturday, November 16.

And already confirmed is a shot at the Central area super-middleweight belt for Alistair Warren, who faces Blackpool’s Dean Halsall in the Lancashire seaside resort on Friday 15 and a Masters bronze lightweight championship bout for Ismail Anwar, against Newark’s Adam Kettleborough in the Lincolnshire town on Sunday 17.

Nurse, 23, scored a 27th career victory when he outpointed tough Pole Krzysztof Szot in Manchester last month after scheduled opponent Shayne Singleton failed to make the weight for a proposed English title clash.

Should the November date with experienced Daws – a former British champion who last month made a gutsy challenge for the European crown, losing controversially on points to Italian Michelle Di Rocco in Brindisi – fail to materialise, the fight will go to purse bids, with an end-of-February deadline.

Warren, 26, will be making a third Central title shot after losing on a technical knockout to Wayne Reid last year and drawing with Luke Blackledge in July.

While Warren, nicknamed Burt, has an eight wins, four defeats and three draws record, Anwar, 22, has three wins from five fights. Masters bronze title fights are over eight rounds.
