Huddersfield Dragons Ladies first team will aim to battle back in the North Hockey League Division II South East in a derby clash at home to Halifax.
Early pace-setters this season, the Dragons dropped to seventh in the table after a 5-0 away defeat at Leeds Adel.
However, Halifax will provide a threat as they moved up to second in the table with a 6-0 home win over Doncaster in their latest outing.
In the North Men’s League the Dragons first team returned to bottom spot in Division II East after a 5-3 reversal away to Sheffield University Bankers seconds.
They will look to notch a second home success of the season when they take on North Shields at Lockwood Park on Saturday (1.30).
In the Yorkshire League’s women’s section there was a very encouraging 3-0 home win for Dragons second string at home to Pudsey in Division II, with the outstanding performers being Maeve Cooper and Kerry Bottomley. In the Yorkshire League men’s section the Dragons have withdrawn their fifth team from the competition.
The team were playing in Division VI North and their results have been expunged.
The Dragons Men’s Veterans team will face Manchester area side Didsbury Northern in the third round of the Now Pensions National Over 40s Cup run by England Hockey.
They earned their place with a second round victory against Bowdon in a game that ended 1-1, Chris Stevenson the Dragons scorer, and was won 5-4 on penalty flicks by Huddersfield.
