THE girls of Highburton Karate Club showed they could kick up a storm as they claimed four medals in the National Open finals.
The British Institute of Karate Organisation held their national event at Cheshunt, London, and a quartet of Huddersfield club’s fighters came away with medals.
Sadly there were no gold medals brought back to Yorkshire, but Frankie Liebmann came closest to victory – losing her final by just half a point.
There were bronze medals also for Frankie’s sister Rebecca, Emma Gantley and Nina Wheatley.
