LIAM SLATER confirmed his dominance on the Under 17 men’s West Yorkshire League as he finished the season in impressive style.

The Longwood Harrier collected another 15 points as he claimed victory in the long jump, a second place in the discus and a fourth place in the 400m.

Slater’s latest results mean he finished the season with 73 points - an incredible 19 points clear of his nearest rival.

Teammate Robert Morris also tasted medal success in the Under 17s section as his 43-point total was enough to claim bronze.

Nathaniel Stock finished with a sliver medal in the Under 15 boys section, having claimed vital field points after regularly finishing in the top three of the 800m and 1500m races.

There was another silver medal for the Harriers as Aran Thomas scooped the silver medal in the Under 11 boys.

His 46 points can be traced to his early-season victories in the long jump and shot disciplines.

The fifth and final Harrier medal in the West Yorkshire League came thanks to Under 11 girl Macy Ellis.

She won the bronze medal with 41 points after showing herself to be competitive all year.

With the Olympic countdown over, Longwood Harriers are offering children 8-13 years old the opportunity for two days of expert athletics training with their Summer StarTrack.

For those interested in throwing, running or jumping you can attend the coaching days on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21 from 10am to 3pm.

StarTrack will be held at Leeds Road Playing Fields at a cost of £12 and children should take a packed lunch.
