Lockwood Con B are the Huddersfield Billiards and Snooker Association’s Three-Man Team knockout champions.

The final pitted Lockwood against Springwood BC A, with Derek Frost the referee, and they ran out 2-0 winners in a best of three frames match.

The first frame brought together Ryan Driver (-5) of Lockwood and Ben Whitehouse (4) of Springwood.

Whitehouse instantly increased the handicap difference with some good potting.

Driver had the opportunity to pull the difference back but missed a couple of easy chances.

However, Driver was handed another opportunity when Whitehouse sportingly declared a foul on himself after accidentally touching the blue when attempting to pot a red.

This allowed Driver to pot a couple of reds with colours to draw level at 34-34.

Driver edged in front but then Whitehouse regained the lead at 43-41.

Driver potted an excellent blue and with only pink and black remaining, Whitehouse had the misfortune to go in-off the pink.

The Lockwood man then accepted his chance and took pink to win 58-43.

The second frame brought together Scott Lawton (-27) for Lockwood up against Springwood’s Trevor Roper (-19).

Aided by some excellent potting and a break of 25 Lawton was able to register 61 points without any reply from Roper.

When Roper finally made his mark with a small run of 12 points, the damage had already been done.

Lawton was 41 points in front with only two reds remaining and, when the colours were reached, Roper was still 39 points adrift.

Lawton potted a couple of the colours to clinch the frame and with it the title for Lockwood Con, who took the silverware with a 73-37 victory.
