THERE was another win for Holmfirth Harriers’ Margaret Sykes in the latest meeting of the Yorkshire Veterans multi-terrain Grand Prix series.
Staged in Pudsey the latest race was two laps over a hilly course, finishing with a tough climb, making it one of the toughest events in the series.
A field of 213 runners took part, ranging from 35 to 75 years in age.
At the sharp end of the race Harriers’ Dave Watson seemed to be struggling with his breathing and unusually found himself in second position right from the gun and was beaten for the first time this year in the series.
Gavin Mulholland, from Stainland, having been second to Watson all season, finally managed to avenge those defeats with a well-deserved win.
Sykes continued her excellent form with yet another 1st lady, 1st F40 position.
