MOTHER and daughter, Jilly and Livvy Harrison enjoyed a golden day when they were part of the Pulse Taikwondo team taking part in the British National Championships at Manchester’s Velodrome.

Skelmanthorpe mum Jill won gold when she became the British Seniors champion, while daughter Livvy became the British Junior champion, and also won bronze in the Cadets division.

Livvy was sponsored by her school, Scissett Middle, and along with Honley’s Chloe Wood, who took bronze in the children’s division, helped Pulse to finish 16th in the medals table out of 53 teams.

Unfortunately for club coach John Lockwood, he lost his first match when the eventual winner kicked him below the belt twice for which he was accredited with four points and took the bout.
