HUDDERSFIELD’S AIMAA West Yorkshire Taekwondo Club landed 19 medals – those including 10 gold – at the Scotland National Championships in Hamilton.
Based at Deighton and Birchencliffe, members took part in pattern divisions, point sparring and continuous sparring and enjoyed terrific success against clubs from all over the British Isles.
Dayomey Raymond and Andrew Wilcox led the way for AIMAA West Yorkshire by becoming double gold medalists.
Dayomey won the 10yrs blue-red junior points sparring and continuous sparring titles while Andrew was successful in the adult point sparring and continuous sparring sections.
Other gold medals went to Iman Ul-Hassan (10yrs white-orange, junior patterns), Usuma Ul-Hassan (13yrs white-orange, junior patterns), Amara Ul-Hassan (16yrs green-purple, junior patters), Tanvi Patel (13yrs high red-black, junior point sparring), William Schofield (13yrs white-green, junior point sparring) and Jessica Parkinson (15yrs blue-red, junior point sparring).
Silvers went to Kulansha Zefi, Tanvi Patel, Samantha Carter, Vicki Miller, Iman Ul-Hassan and Naomi Wareham.
Bronze medals were collected by William Schofield, Amara Ul-Hassan and Jamie Shaw.
