TOTAL TAEKWONDO Martial Arts Schools are celebrating five golds and 10 medals all told from the Taekwondo and Kickboxing Yorkshire Open Championships.

Based at Nirvana Fitness, Huddersfield, and The Reform Church, Kirkheaton, Total Taekwondo members fought against more than 100competitors in various divisions and categories including continuous sparring, point stop sparring, patterns and destruction.

Three of the club’s golds came in point stop sparring from Radeim Hood (Juniors Under 130cm Beginners), William Lockwood (Juniors Over 130cm Beginners) and Aiden Bridges (Juniors 160cm Intermediate).

Everton Thomas was a double gold winner in the Seniors Patters and Seniors Destruction, while also taking bronze in continuous sparring.

Competitors ranged from five-year-old beginners who were taking part in their first ever tournament to experienced senior black belt students.

Oliver Talbot won silver in patterns and bronze in point stop sparring, while Tristan Grey took silver in point stop sparring and Benjamin Nyeste bronze in the same discipline.

The club have been established over 10 years and runs classes for taekwondo, freestyle kickboxing and fitness under head instructor David Cliffe (4th Dan black belt).
