Denby Dale teenager Jack Price put his R & T sponsored Gas Gas at the top of the results on Saturday at the Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club’s Renee Smith Memorial Trial at icebound Dob Park ahead of Chester international Dec Bullock and North East Centre star John Crinson.
The charity trial raised funds for the Fell Rescue organisation and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Both were very much in evidence when Andy Howe suffered a serious crash at Addingham Moorside on March 23rd this year. Jack Price rode the first lap of twenty sections dropping a mark in the nineteenth section at the west end of Brown’s Wood and a further penalty on the steep climb in Dob where the final hurdle was a one metre diameter fallen tree.
Clubman A missed the third section so by the last sub in Dob. Halifax contender Michael Benn was on eight while Guiseley top musician Sam Jennings was one under on seven.
He added another three in Browns, one under Benn. Two stops in the tenth blew out Paul Gravestock who was always in the hunt. Falcon member Charlie Mosley rode well to take the third Class B Youth award.
