A QUARTET of Huddersfield Falcon riders put in a superb showing in South Yorkshire.

The Hillsborough MCC held the Yorkshire Centre Championship trial and after the icy and then wet weather the courses proved unforgiving at Ughill.

The Falcon charge was led by Simon Tyas, who rode his Gas Gas to third place in the novice section.

His efforts scored 15 championship points and having set the benchmark it was up to his teammates to better his run.

And that result was duly put in the shade by club colleague Ben Robinson, whose third place in the Inter class section won him the Inter class championship title.

Denby Dale’s Jack Price then again demonstrated his uncanny skill at the age of 15.

He won the Youth A Class, but also managed to match the experienced Dan Thorpe in the Experts class, but the Denby Dale youngster lost out on third place overall on most cleans to Sheffield’s international rider Thorpe.

Falcon member Chris Greenwood also impressed as he got his pristine TLR Honda home in the Clubman class to beat Peter Field by a single point, while Pudsey’s Mark Chippendale got home 15 marks behind Field.
