HUDDERSFIELD Falcon rider Jack Price has made an instant impact in Europe.

The British youth trials champion from Denby Dale won the opening European Youth Championship trial staged at Tandvald in the Czech Republic.

Riding his Jitsie Trial and Road sponsored Gas Gas machine, the 16-year-old British Youth Class A champion shot to the top of the Youth category rankings with maximum points and made a perfect start as he bids for this season’s European title.

The Falcon club was flying at the Bradford DMC Davy Cup Trial staged at Skyrakes Farm near Skipton.

Richard Taylor laid out ten sections among the jagged rocks of the former British Trials Championship course which were tricky.

A number of riders almost came unstuck on the rock jumping in the ninth section where Falcon’s Ben Robinson had a very wild moment on lap one, when he nearly plunged off the top of an eight foot high rock face.

His club colleague Simon Tyas opted for an easier line but failed in his attempts.

At least Ben Robinson headed the Inter class, while Tyas missed third novice by a mere two marks.

Ian Haigh excelled on the Clubman Over 40s route with a tie-breaker decider for the class victory.

There was no doubt about the Clubman B winner, Chris Greenwood and his pristine Honda won by a country mile.
