Huddersfield racer Daniel Lloyd was among the drivers at the 2014 annual ‘Sponsors Day’ at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

The 22-year-old driver took the opportunity to treat 19 guests to a day of motor racing action.

Lloyd was on hand to talk to his guests and sponsors about racing before thrilling them to a flying lap around the circuit in a race prepared Lotus Elise Sports Car.

Lloyd, who is a MSA Academy racer, talked the guests through laps of the 3.66 mile track to give the best possible insight into the skill required to be a successful racing driver.

“This year’s annual sponsors day really was fantastic,” said Lloyd.

“The night before we all stayed at a local hotel and went out for a meal and drinks, it was a great way to kick things off with such a good bunch of people.”

John Duff was named driver-of-the day and his Darren Guest took the trophy for the most improved driver of the day.

“It was an extremely cold day and the track was pretty slippery, but everyone did extremely well considering the tricky conditions they had to contend with, everyone had a great time,” said Lloyd

Lloyd competed in a wide variety of events in 2014 with outings in a McLaren in the Blancpain Sprint Series, an Aston Martin in the Blancpain Endurance Series, a V8 Ford Focus in the Menzo 24 hours of Zolder and a Porsche 911 in the Petit Le Mans and he intends on the 2015 season being even bigger and better.

“I’m working on some really exciting plans for 2015, nothing is confirmed as yet but things are moving forward and I want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been involved with my racing this year,” said Lloyd.

“It’s been a tough season but my sponsors have been fantastic, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be able to follow my dream of becoming a professional driver.”
