TOM TUNSTALL will be joined by ‘Aussie Dave’ Anthony as Doodson Motorsport field two riders in this weekend’s British Superbike round at Oulton Park.

Team owner Tunstall is joined on the Doodson-backed Honda machines by the 30-year-old Australian, who has continued to score solid top-10 finishes in the 2012 AMA American Superbike Championship.

Anthony has experience of working with the team already, having stood in for Tunstall for the last three rounds of 2011 when the Huddersfield racer was injured.

The Californian resident is no stranger to the British Superbike paddock having ridden in Supersport and Superstock classes, not to mention a successful foray into the Superbike EVO Championship, scoring a double win at Thruxton.

Tunstall explained the challenges in getting the package together in time for this weekend’s triple header in Cheshire.

“The work that the whole Doodson team has put in since Knockhill to make this happen has been incredible,” said Tunstall.

“You can’t buy a BSB spec Superbike “off the shelf”, each team bespoke engineer their machines to a very high build spec and, without the luxury of a winter break, it’s been a challenge!”

Tunstall added: “Dave landed in the UK on Wednesday morning and we got him on the bike at Mallory that afternoon, on the way to Oulton.

“From there we are looking to continue the progress from Knockhill. We’re looking forward to working with Dave again. It’s a big ask for both him and the team, especially with the three-race weekend, but we’re relishing the challenge and as long as we continue to make good progress we’ll be satisfied.”

There is one race tomorrow and two on Sunday.
