ROCKWOOD Harriers Pony Club showjumping team competed at the Bramham International Horse Trials and finished a superb second in the Inter-Branch Showjumping competition.

Beccie Atkinson, Charlotte Oldroyd, Stuart Dyson, Harriet Locke and reserve rider Nicola Wright were selected to represent the club and did a fantastic job.

They were the only team to have all members ride a clear in the first round to gain a place in the five-team jump-off.

With Rockwood Harriers last to jump, the pressure was certainly on to go clear with quick times.

The team rode very stylish rounds and took an impressive silver and those attached to the club thanked Peter Mellor of Woodnook Arena, Meltham, for training and steering the team to success.

Three-time Badminton Horse Trials winner Pippa Funnell says it has been ‘good fun and hard work’ juggling her equestrian career with her new-found job as an author of children's books.

Funnell – who remains the only person in history to achieve the Grand Slam of Eventing by winning at Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky horse trials in the same year – has penned the Tilly’s Pony Tails series, aimed at horse-mad youngsters.
