Faraz Parvias won all three of his rubbers in a remarkable debut for Royds Hall B, but his side still lost out 5-4 at home to Fartown B in the Huddersfield & District Badminton League.
Fartown came from behind to claim the last two rubbers of the match to snatch victory from Royds Hall in a thrilling encounter.
The stand out rubber of the tie was a match up which pitched Sue Oldfield and Helen Lambert against Helen Hales and Melanie Hartley, both sets were close but the Fartown ladies clinched the rubber winning the second set 28-26.
Fartown’s victory consolidates their fourth placed position in Division Three, one place ahead of Royds Hall B, who have a game in hand.
