ROBERT READ scored a century in his latest SMileS Open Snooker League match – but took two visits to the table to achieve it!

The Lindley WMC player had breaks of 55 and 57 against Crosland Moor Conservative’s Gary Doughty on the way to a 116-38 win, which helped lift Lindley to a 3-1 victory following earlier wins for Naeem and Andy Boothroyd.

The only other man to top the half-century mark this week was Meltham Conservative Club’s Andy Battye, who fired in a 56 break to help defeat St Patrick’s Shane Parker, Meltham also taking the match 3-1.

In the Billiards League, Open champion Rob Armitage from Springwood BC, made breaks of 55 and 64 on the way to overhauling Roger Singleton after he had given the Milnsbridge man a staggering 210 start on handicap.

Armitage went on to win the frame 200-179 which, along with Bryan Almond gave their team a 2-1 win.
