THE Borough of Kirklees Swimming Club have made their Swimmers of the Year presentations.

The Girls 13 years and under award was won by Emily Robinson, who achieved medals at county and regional level and achieved five qualifying times for the British Age Group National Finals in July – reaching the final of the 100m butterfly event.

The Boys 13 years and under award went to Scott Lewis who also obtained medals at county and regional levels and obtained two national qualifying times.

The Girls 14 years and over award went to Harmonie Waterman, who obtained three National Youth qualifying times, and won medals at county level and qualified for the National Youth Open Water Swimming Championships.

The Boys 14 years and over was given jointly to Matthew Hinchliffe and Jamie Brown.

Hinchliffe achieved three National Youth Qualifying times and reached the semi-final of the 15/16 years 200 metre backstroke event, while Brown achieved two National Youth qualifying times and has been chosen for the England Talent Camp.

The club’s overall swimmer of the year trophy went to Robinson for her achievements throughout the year.
