ALL SIX Borough of Kirklees swimming teams are through to the national finals in August.

It’s the first time the Huddersfield-based club have achieved the feat and it’s a proud milestone for coach Martin Mosey and all concerned.

It is a measure of how fast the club’s top performers were in the North East Youth and Senior Championships at Sunderland, when they hauled in a tally of medals and produced swims to encourage them for the rest of the season.

National bronze medallist Katy Venters had comfortable wins in the Womens 100m and 200m Backstroke events and in very good times of 1.04.5 and 2.16.00 respectively.

Mathew Marshall proved he’s returning to a bit of form and did well to win the Youth 200m Butterfly in his second fastest swim ever of 2.08.16.

Alicia Holdsworth had an outstanding meet with her swims but, unfortunately, came away with only a silver in the Youth 50m Back, while Abigail Hirstle picked up a bronze in the Youth 50m Butterfly in a National Qualifying time.
