HUDDERSFIELD Table Tennis League champions Brooks A served notice of their intent to their title rivals when they thrashed previous League-leaders Woodfield Park A 10-0!

Only David Wood came anywhere near winning a set in the Woodfield whitewash as Tim Dyson, Russell Senior and Neil Crossland blew their opponents away, six of the games going to straight sets.

Senior won all his three games 3-0 and also teamed up with Dyson to hammer Keith Skarz and Dave Wood 3-0 in the doubles.

Crossland’s three matches all went his way 3-1, the only slight scare coming against Wood who took him to 16-14 in the fourth before the Brooks man wrapped it up.

And that overwhelming victory led Brooks back to the top of the table with 106 points, with Marsh Conservative now their likeliest challengers, as they followed their leaders’ example by also racking up a 10-0 win over Kingsmith PW, thanks to wins for Ian Tweedale, Bob Sanderson and Tony Stead.

They next come up against Woodfield Park, which should be an interesting clash.

Down at the bottom of the table, Kingsmith PW and Deighton LSA are finding life in Division I hard, although Deighton did manage a welcome 5-5 draw with Marsh Con B.

Barry Drain claimed two wins and doubled up with Kevin Senior to win the pairs, the latter also claiming a single sets win, as did Clinton Powell who chipped in with a crucial win.
