WHAT a great feeling it was to get that victory at Castleford Tigers!

We had to dig incredibly deep to come away with the Super League points, and it was excellent to get things back on track after the disappointment of our home defeat against Hull the week before.

But, again, we were far from being at our best, and we clearly have a number of areas we need to fix up, both individually and collectively.

And I certainly know there are aspects of my game that I need to improve.

Overall, I have to admit I’ve been fairly satisfied with the start I’ve made.

I wanted to get over here and try and play my best footy as quickly as possible, and to a certain extent I think I’ve been able to do that.

It definitely gave me a bit of a lift when I was told I’d been named in the first engage Super League Team of the Month.

However, as a full-back, you can only play well if the players in front of you are doing their jobs well, and they are.

I genuinely believe that in the wins we’ve achieved so far, it’s the forwards who should take a great deal of the credit, as well as the half-backs.

Kevin Brown’s form, in particular, has been excellent, and he’s also had to play with a lot of courage because he’s picked up his fair share of bangs.

Kev’s epitomised how things have been going for us generally, in that we’ve been doing things tough.

But that’s an approach that should bring its rewards, and let’s hope that starts at home to Harlequins on Sunday.
