IN-FORM Meltham All Blacks are sitting second in the Division V table after a superb 58-4 victory over Guiseley Rangers.

The home side dominated from start to finish and had no trouble building on last week’s opening 12-2 triumph over King Cross Park.

Oliver Storey opened the scoring after good work from Ben Moorhouse, and Rob Lewis added an excellent touchline conversion to give the All Blacks a lead they never looked like losing.

The next two tries came from well-worked moves which opened the way for Jason Carter and then Alan Murray to extend the advantage. Carter quickly added a second from a scrum after Adam Lodge’s ‘bomb’ was knocked-on, with Lewis adding all three goals to take Meltham almost out of sight by the midway point of the opening period.

But there was still far more to come as Moorhouse turned provider to scorer as he finished off a good move strongly in the corner.

Matthew Carter, who was beginning to cause all sorts of problems with his darting runs and great support play, then added two tries, the second of which was converted by Gareth Atkinson, to make it 38-0 at the break.

The second half continued in similar fashion, with Meltham dominating, although Guiseley did cross for one consolation score.

Ryan White grabbed the All Blacks’ opening second-half try and Ross White added an excellent solo score from close to the halfway line.

Jordan Wells, who was making his debut, made several powerful, jinking runs from the wing to cause lots of problems and paving the way for his try for the club.

The final try came from Lewis, who was on hand to support a Storey break, with Lewis finishing with two more tries to complete the scoring.

Guiseley nominated Lodge as best back and Murray best forward, while Jason Pedelty was Meltham’s man-of-the-match.
