A HUDDERSFIELD derby is one of the highlights in the draw for the second round of the Pennine Cup.

Emley Moor, who have been struggling in the Championship Division, host Premier Division Slaithwaite Saracens in what will be an eagerly-anticipated contest on Saturday, January 21.

Also in Cup action that day will be First Division Newsome Panthers, who make the trip to Championship team Ossett Trinity. while fellow Division I side Lindley Swifts will be hoping to get past Dearne Valley Bulldogs in a delayed first-round tie and set up a home date with in-form Championship Division leaders Halifax Irish.

In the second round of the Andrew Bennett Memorial Trophy, Third Division title-chasers Underbank Rangers will be confident of making further progress when they host Queen’s A, while several Huddersfield sides will be in action in the Supplementary Cup.

These ties are also to be held on January 21, with Division V side Meltham All Blacks hoping to make home advantage count when they take on the winners of the delayed round-one tie between Sherburn Bears and Odsal Sedbergh.

At the same time, Emley Moor A make the trip to Farnley Falcons in an all-Division VII fixture.
