Huddersfield YMCA are hoping to attract a bumper crowd for tomorrow’s big home derby Yorkshire Men’s League clash against Moldgreen.

The arch mid-table rivals shared in an 8-8 draw at the DRAM Stadium in early June.

It was a clash that could have gone either way.

And with the fixture getting under way at Laund Hill at 12.45pm and taking place before the Giants Under 19s’ Academy fixture against Bradford Bulls, the YMCA’s Lee Knapton is hoping the town’s rugby league fans will come out to support both matches.

“Laund Hill promises to be the place to be tomorrow,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to what should be a cracking derby against Moldgreen and then staging the Giants’ Academy.

“For anyone interested in watching grassroots rugby league it doesn’t get much better than this!

“And I know how much the YM boys are looking forward to getting back in action after having a couple of free weekends.

“The game at Moldgreen in June was quite error-ridden due to heavy rain, but that doesn’t look like it’ll be a problem this weekend.

“Our coaches, Tim Jones and Chris Clarke have prepared the lads well and we’re confident of producing a good performance.

“And we know we’re going to need to play well, because Moldgreen are doing well.”
