NEWSOME Panthers will go into the Christmas break full of festive cheer after rattling up another Pennine League Division I victory.

The in-form Panthers made it eights wins from 12 starts with a 32-18 triumph at Dodworth to keep them fourth in the table.

But in complete contrast, it was a weekend of disappointment for Division III title-chasers Underbank Rangers, who were beaten 20-18 in their top-of-the-table clash at West Craven Warriors.

It was a result that enabled the Warriors to replace Rangers at the top.

There was, however, better news for Rangers’ second string as they won 24-12 at home to Dewsbury Moor A in Division VII.
