ST JOSEPH’S are ready to embark on their Pennine League Premier Division campaign.

After sitting out the opening week of the season last weekend, the men from Fartown get under way tomorrow with a trip to Elland.

It’s obviously something of a trip into the unknown, but with Elland having opened their season with a 13-0 win over Kippax Welfare it has all the makings of a very tough assignment.

Emley Moor couldn’t have asked for a better start to their First Division campaign after destroying Illingworth 52-14, and now they will look to make it two out of two this weekend when they host Westgate Wolves.

That’s also the aim for Division II teams Moldgreen and Newsome Panthers.

Moldgreen travel to Wibsey Warriors on the back of their opening-day success over Thornhill A, while the Panthers travel to Stanningley A after their win at Bank Top Harriers.

Lindley Swifts are another club looking to build on an excellent opening-day win when they play host Sharlston Rovers A in Division III, and Division IV side Underbank Rangers look to follow suit when they make the trip to Keighley Albion A.

Meltham All Blacks bid to get their first League points in Division V when they entertain King Cross Park A, while there’s a big derby clash in Division VI between St Joseph’s A and Emley Moor A.

Newsome A are also in action in that division, and in Division VII Underbank A are at home to Selby Warriors A.
