CONFERENCE National Grand Finalists Underbank Rangers will kick-off their 2010 campaign with a home clash against Warrington Wizards on Saturday, April 18.

The clash at The Cross will be Rangers’ first competitive fixture since their Grand Final defeat at the hands of Bramley Buffaloes at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium last October.

The aim for player-coach Richard Knight’s side will, of course, be to go one better this year, and they have been handed the chance to start their campaign positively with three home games in their opening four fixtures.

Rangers make the short trip to Featherstone Lions for round two, looking to win at their West Yorkshire rivals for the first time.

And this is followed with the visit of Carlisle Centurions and then the promoted Kippax Knights, who have moved up from the Yorkshire League Premier Division.

Former Conference National clubs Gateshead Storm and East Lancashire have moved down two levels to the regional competitions, giving a 10-team national league for 2010.

Each side will, therefore, play a total of 18 regular fixtures, followed by a top-six play-off series to determine the champions.
