UNDERBANK Rangers are on the Wembley trail!

The club’s Co-operative Conference National League champions travel to top Cumbrian side Seaton Rangers (near Workington) in the preliminary round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup tomorrow.

It promises to be a big test for the men from The Cross, who haven’t played together since they beat Kippax Knights 40-18 in last season’s Conference National Grand Final at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium.

But with head coach Richard Knight able to call on the services of a large number of players who were able to celebrate in style last October, Rangers clearly have a side capable of getting the job done and progressing into the first round of rugby league’s most famous knock-out competition.

Should that prove the case, then they will host the winners of the Stanley Rangers v Edinburgh Eagles tie on Sunday, February 19.

And to celebrate their Challenge Cup involvement, Underbank have this week been handed a new kit, courtesy of Brambles Bar, with (from left) head coach Richard Knight, Brambles owner Gary Smith and overseas player Nick Briggs pictured at the official kit hand-over.

Underbank: Hendricks; Allette, Chatterton, Lang, Alexis-Bailey; Briggs, Barrett; Valentine, Carroll, Williams, Housley, Joyce, St Hilaire. Subs: Horsfall, Worthington, Dalby, Covell-Wood.
