ALYS SENIOR is the RFL’s Yorkshire Under 12 rugby league Player of the Year.

The 12-year-old (pictured left) from Newsome, who attends All Saints, began playing for Newsome Panthers at the age of seven and, since last year, has been in the ranks of Huddersfield St Joseph’s Sharks.

The scrum half, who will move up to the Under 14 girls team next season, says the worst thing in the world would be if she couldn’t play rugby league again.

She loves all sports, however, and wants to become a PE teacher when she finishes her education.

Huddersfield St Joseph’s Sharks are keen to recruit more girls to the sport at Under 12, 14 and 16 level and anyone interested in becoming involved can ring Karen Senior on 07842 699726.
