SLAITHWAITE Saracens hit the points trail with a comprehensive 56-20 away win at Ackworth Jaguars in the first division of the Pennine League.

The home side hadn’t lost on their own turf for two season, but Saracens set about destroying that record as it took them just two minutes to get in front with a Richard Flooks try after a swift move and Danny Garside added the goal from the touchline.

It sparked an incredible first half flurry for the visitors who racked up 38 points with tries from Bobby Bhodori, Simon Burkinshaw, Nathan Shaw, Darren Hawkyard, Chris Lodge and Stuart Dunbar and four goals from the boot of Garside.

The shell-shocked Jaguars pulled themselves round early in the second half to grab two touchdowns within six minutes of the restart, but their momentum was halted as Flooks went over for his second try.

Ackworth again managed to get the upper hand and bagged two more tries, but again Saracens kept their own score ticking over as Darren Hawkyard went in for his second try.

With five minutes remaining Slaithwaite scored the try of the match with full back Richie Hawkyard fielding a kick almost on his own line and he slipped the chasing cover to go the length of the field for a spectacular touchdown.
