UNDERBANK Rangers are hoping to invite Widnes Vikings to The Cross for a pre-season fixture.

And they are also looking to line-up an away game at Keighley Cougars ahead of the start of the new RL Conference National League campaign.

That gets under way with a home game against Warrington Wizards on Saturday, April 7.

It's a match that is bound to create a great deal of excitement.

But a potential home match against Widnes Under 21s would be even more attractive.

The high-profile clash with the Vikings is a distinct possibility thanks to Underbank football manager Neil Farrell.

He used to coach Widnes Under 21s coach John Stankevich when the former St Helens star was playing for the West Bank club in Widnes.

"John is interested, and to get the game staged at The Cross would be fantastic," he said.
