MELTHAM All Blacks Under 12s showed their substance, while the Under 8s and Under 9s both recorded an avalanche of points.

The Under 12s yet again proved their quality with a gritty win at Wibsey.

First-half tries from Daniel Hirst and Patrick Diavewa gave the away side an advantage they would not relinquish.

Wibsey fought back to make the game a little tense but then man-of-the-match Diavewa's second score sealed a 16-10 win.

A superb individual display from Elliot Morris was not enough for victory as the Under 11s drew 24-24 with Castleford Townville.

Morris touched down for two tries while also turning in a top tackling effort in an entertaining contest.

Jack Thackeray and Scott Gledhill also crossed for Meltham while Thackeray and David Dyson kicked well.

The Under 10s, meanwhile, slipped to a disappointing home defeat against a good Siddal side.

Leading 10-4 at the interval, thanks to tries from Luke Pogson and Jack Parkin, Meltham seemed to be in control of the game.

However, Siddal fought back and, despite a late Pogson score, clinched the game with a narrow 18-14 victory.

The Under 9s were in top form as they ran in 10 tries at home to Wibsey.

A highly influential Daniel King led the way with four tries and two goals as the visitors struggled to stay in touch.

Jack Evans (2), Jacob Glover, Michael Tooley, Cory McDonagh and Chris Brearley all scored as Meltham cruised to a 54-14 win.

The Under 8s again illustrated their strength this season, recording another half-century.

Christian Pestell's five tries got the ball rolling as Meltham ran riot against Moldgreen.

Darren Walker (3), Jordan Williams (2), Jack Clifford (2) and George Sykes-Kenworthy all scored to seal a super 52-10 win.
