GARETH GREENWOOD is plotting Siddal’s next rugby league win while brother Lee is ready to bolster Halifax Rugby Union Club’s Yorkshire IV challenge.

Siddal, coached by Gareth, are in the middle of a National Conference League Premier Division campaign.

Meanwhile, the Ovenden Park side are preparing for a 15-a-side season which starts in September under Mark Walton, who has brought Lee into his coaching team.

David Malloney is taking the forwards for specialist sessions, with Helen Smith working on fitness and conditioning and Becca Vale on nutrition.

Fourth-placed Siddal are aiming to keep Saturday’s visitors Myton Warriors at the bottom of the 14-team table by beating them at Reactiv Park (2.30).

Centre Gavin Stead was the star of the show at Hull Dockers last weekend, with his hat trick of tries and three goals helping clinch a 30-20 win.

The other tryscorers were Richard Lopag – who like Stead, now has eight for the season – Nick Smith and Craig Sanderson.

Siddal are on the same 14-point mark as third-placed Wath Brow Hornets and two behind leading pair Thatto Heath Crusaders and Lock Lane.

Elland and Ovenden are fourth and seventh respectively in the NCL Second Division after the former took the derby honours 12-10.

There was little between the sides all the way through the contest with the kicking of Elland’s Cayci Pearson – two goals – proving the difference.

Dean Avis and David Webb touched down for the home team while Ovenden’s points came from Luke O’Mara’s two goals and Luke Sandland’s goal.

This Saturday it’s Ovenden v Eastmoor and Oldham St Anne’s v Elland.
