Huddersfield ARL’s Sue Taylor becomes BARLA’s first woman chairman

HUDDERSFIELD’S Sue Taylor is to become the BARLA chairman – the first time a woman has been elected into the role.

The Huddersfield ARLA official was elected at the BARLA AGM at Jackson House, Huddersfield, and is joined by Steve Manning of WRLA (Women’s Rugby League Association) who was elected to the position of BARLA Vice Chair.

Also elected at the meeting were Joe Fitzsimmons (Wigan ARL), Anita Halliwell (Pennine ARL) and Kenny Tinsdale (Castleford & Featherstone ARL) to the Life Members Association, while Spen Allison, the retiring BARLA chairman from York ARL was made a Senior Vice President, John Trickett MP becomes a Vice President and posts went to Steve Manning (WRLA) as trustee, Sean High (Cumbria) as BARLA Board Open Age Member and Carole Land (Yorkshire Youth ARL) as BARLA Board Youth & Junior Member.
