Huddersfield YMCA earned the derby bragging rights with a hard-fought 14-6 Yorkshire Men’s League Group II triumph over Moldgreen at Laund Hill.
The wet conditions meant the contest proved an error-ridden affair.
But there were still some big games from the YMCA’s Ben Cole, Sam Crowther and Liam Tindall, which paved the way for tries from Ryan White, Callum McSheffrey and Jonlee Sanderson, who also added a goal.
Moldgreen were always in the hunt and scored their try through Jamie Taylor and goal from Kyle McManus, with their challenge ultimately hit hard by the 70th-minute dismissal of Dean Bradshaw for slapping.
