NICK SHARPE (left) has returned to Huddersfield – and given coach Mark Sowerby a major selection headache!

The former Yorkshire junior has today been named on the bench for the crucial North I home clas h against Westoe.

It will be his first appearance for his hometown club since completing his studies at Northampton University.

While the talented back-rower has been playing for Rugby Lions, one division above Huddersfield in the competitive League ladder.

And, having seen the way he has been shaping up in training, Sowerby feels it will only be a matter of time before Sharpe is named in the starting line-up.

That, however, is when the problems begin!

“Nick is an excellent player and a very useful addition to the squad,” said Sowerby.

“The fact he’s been playing for Rugby shows he’s no mug, and he’s looked very strong in training.

“But I’ve been very impressed with the way the back-rowers have been playing this season, with the arrival of Gavin Rhodes having given us even more steel.

“On top of that, I’m hopeful Hamish Pratt will be back soon after his shoulder injury.

“So, I can see there could be some big selection issues ahead. That’s going to be tough, but I think we can live with it!”
