UNDERBANK Rangers caught rivals Bramley Buffaloes cold as they raced to a 50-14 win at Stanningley in the Conference National.

It was Bramley’s seasonal debut and they struggled to handle the attacking drive of unbeaten Rangers.

It took Underbank just three minutes to get on the scoreboard when some weak tackling let scrum half Alex Chatterton in at the corner, but Rangers then suffered a setback as centre Joe Worthington limped out of the game on nine minutes.

The Buffaloes forwards worked hard to get the home side moving, but a failure to retain possession saw the hosts struggle to get out of their own half.

The home defence kept Underbank out until on 25 minutes they failed to find touch with a penalty and two plays later Andy Boothroyd went through a large gap to score, Neil Barrett added the goal.

The Buffaloes responded and some crisp passing saw Alistair James go over in the corner, however, that good work was undone as Rangers grabbed two tries in the last six minutes of the half, Chatterton completing a fine hat trick.

Trailing 22-4, Bramley started the second half poorly and the visitors scored three unanswered tries within eight minutes of the restart.

Boothroyd scored a simple try on 42 minutes, full back Sam Hendrick raced in from halfway three minutes later and hooker Adam Carroll added a third.

While a kick from stand off Sean Storrie forced an Underbank drop-out, Rangers regained possession and Barrett punished the Buffaloes with a superb 40-20 kick and from the scrum Chris Geoghehan crossed for their eighth try, Barrett again added the goal.

Bramley finally made a mark when, straight from the kick-off, they regained possession and quick passing put winger Nathan Williams in at the corner.

Driven on by loose forward Graham Nash, Bramley built on that score and prop Dave Parker crashed over on 68 minutes, Graham Harrison converting.

Bramley finished the game forcing a second drop out and to their credit they kept going, but Rangers winger Courtney Allette had the final say as his weaving run from halfway brought a try and Barrett’s goal brought up the 50 points for Underbank.
