WIGAN recalled Pat Richards to their squad for the first time since the 2010 Man of Steel suffered a knee injury in April and he more than played his part in the Warriors 38-6 triumph over the Salford City Reds at the JJB Stadium.

Richards notched two tries and a goal in the first half as, along with a touchdown from Sam Tomkins, the home side led Salford 14-0 at half-time.

In the second period there were further tries for Darrell Goulding, Jack Hughes, Harrison Hansen and Sean O’Loughlin, and Richards took his goal tally to five, as Wigan stretched their lead over Warrington Wolves at the top of Super League back to three points with just two games left to play.
