JOSH CUTTELL grabbed a hat trick of tries as Newsome Panthers secured a second successive Second Division victory with a 66-0 thrashing of Boothtown Terriers.

Newsome built on last week’s win over Thornhill with some excellent rugby played in bad conditions.

By half-time the Panthers were already out of sight with eight tries and maintained the pressure after the break to rattle up their biggest score of the season.

Man-of-the-match Cuttle was obviously the star of the show with his three tries, while there were also scores for Damien Kenchington, Jason Dodd, Ben Good, Tom Good, Alex Chatterton, Wes Devlin, James Wallace and Austen Barrowclough. Ross Studholme landed nine goals.

Chatterton led Newsome’s defensive effort with 18 tackles in a performance where Kenchington, Studholme, Barrowclough and debut man Ben Dawson shone.
