MELTHAM All Blacks played their part in an incredible scoreline as they were beaten 1-0 by Keighley Albion A in Division V.

The main event of this clash came in the second half as the visitors landed a crucial drop goal.

Both teams endeavoured to score right up to the final whistle, but defences held firm.

The closest either team came to scoring a try was when Nathan Whitehead broke the line but was tackled with a high shot just short of the line.

This should have resulted in a penalty try but somehow it led to the visiting team having the put-in at a scrum!

Rob Lewis was voted best forward for Meltham and Jason Carter best back, while Carter was also voted Meltham’s players’ player.

St Joseph’s A team suffered a disappointing 22-20 home defeat to Guiseley Rangers in Division VI.

Saints dominated the game for 65 minutes, but let the two league points slip away from them in the last 15 minutes.

The home side led 14-6 at half-time, thanks to tries from Steve O’Keefe, Lee St Hilaire and March Chatten and a Darren Kelly goal.

That lead was then extended with a Craig Lee converted try after a break by prop Matty Gratino.

But the visitors dominated for the rest of the contest to take the honours.

Men of the match for Saints were St Hilaire, Kelly and Graham Hyland.
