SLAITHWAITE Saracens are marching on in Division III of the Pennine League!

The in-form Huddersfield side made it 11 wins from 12 starts with an excellent 40-12 triumph at a very physical Whitehall Warriors.

Their hosts may be fourth in the League ladder, but they were still second best to a Saracens side who took another step towards the title.

Although the visitors fell 2-0 behind after conceding a first-minute penalty, they were soon into their stride and had opened up an 18-2 interval lead with two tries from Matt Lodge, one from Richard Flooks and three conversions from Dave Holmes.

In the second half, the Saracens kept the Whitehall attack at bay, with the forwards all working well, while the combination on the left between winger Flooks and centre Mark Boothroyd, pictured, proved highly effective throughout the second 40 minutes.

By the end of the contest, Boothroyd had completed a hat trick, while Lee Mason and Mick Bostock also crossed for scores to seal a comfortable win.
