HUDDERSFIELD Sharks Under 16s are through to the third round of the West Riding Challenge Cup after a 42-12 triumph over Slaithwaite Saracens.

The result was largely expected, however, as the Sharks play two divisions higher than their visitors.

By half-time, the Sharks were in control at 20-4, with tries from Craig Lee, Adam King, Adam Purcell and Danny Bravo, who also added the goals.

Then victory was wrapped up with second-half scores from Sam James, Kris Harrop, Jacob Senior and man-of-the-match Bravo, who again added the goals.

The Under 11s produced their best performance of the season to beat Wibsey 30-12.

Man-of-the-match Tom Beaumont was in top form and was rewarded with four tries, while Michael McGowan also scored.

Beaumont, Ben Leeming, Jamie Burnand, Josh Robinson and Liam Doughty landed goals.

Top driver was Tyler Davies.

The Under 12s also hit top form to beat Greetland 34-0.

With the in-form man-of-the-match Reece Lawrence leading by example, the Sharks were totally dominant, scoring tries through Oliver Hague (2), Tom Pattison, Sam Kenyon, top driver Marcus Rhodes - his first for the club - Jack Jennings and Jordan Sild. Hague (2) and Owen Restall added the goals.

The Under 9s edged out King Cross 38-34.

Keenan Simpson led the scoring with a hat trick of tries, with others coming from player-of-the-match Becky Hague, Lewis Boye, Caylen Lewin and Jordi Simpson.

Goals were scored by Hague, Boye, Lewin, Adam Bradbury and Beth Swift, her first for the Sharks.

Best tacklers were Bradbury and Ben Parker and the most improved player was Lucy Walter.

But there was a 20-8 defeat for the Under 14s at Guiseley.

Tries came from Levi Naylor and Ryan Moses, while Danny Pittman was man-of-the-match.

Bradley Daley was top driver, Cameron West top tackler and Andrew Unsworth the most improved.

MOLDGREEN Under 9s suffered a 34-24 defeat in a high-scoring game against West Bowling.

The tries were shared between Miles, Sam and John, who also added the goals.

And there was a 52-12 defeat for the Under 8s against Meltham All Blacks.

Ashley and Ethan scored the tries, while Connor was named man-of-the-match.
