St Joseph’s faced Lock Lane at Fartown and it proved to be another close game between the two sides with the home side holding on for a 16-12 victory.
Lock Lane started strongly but couldn’t break the home side’s defensive line after 15 minutes the away side struck with good build up play and scored in the corner.
The home side improved their defence and on the next set scored as Ike Vangrove fed Joe Morrison who then put Level Lewis clear to score under the posts.
The second half started well for the home side with the forwards making good ground as Ethan Myers, AJ Wallace and Harvey Jubb all caused the visitors problems.
The home side created room for the backs and good play saw the ball moved wide for Morrison to score in the corner.
Lock Lane hit back with two tries in four minutes all scored out wide.
The home side trailed with time running out but Joes powered the ball forward and the pressure led to a try as Wallace forced his way over.
With one minute remaining the visitors tried to break the home sides line but great defence saw them hold out for a hard fought victory 16-12.
The awards went to Level Lewis and Harvey Turner.
