MICHAEL DE VERE is aiming to celebrate a major milestone by inspiring the Giants to Super League success over Catalans Dragons.

The former Australian Test centre will make his 200th first-grade appearance in Sunday's home clash (3.00).

It will be his 30th game for the Giants - he made 170 for Brisbane Broncos - and De Vere admits he is enjoying himself again after massive injury problems.

"Walking out for my 200th game will be special," said the 29-year-old.

"And I'm delighted that's going to be achieved when I'm enjoying my footy again. Obviously, last year was a bit of a nightmare, with the knee injury and then my broken hand.

"But I've now got all my confidence back and there's nothing better than playing in a team that's going well, so it's good to be a Giant right now."

De Vere's Giants' teammate Robbie Paul, meanwhile, will take to the field this weekend on the back of his latest New Zealand Test call.

The in-form half-back has been named in the 22-man Kiwis squad for the one-off Test against Great Britain at Knowsley Road on Wednesday, June 28

Also named are Stacey Jones and Alex Chan of the Catalans.
