HUDDERSFIELD Giants' Junior Academy side are looking to go into their First Division play-off campaign on the back of a successful end to the regular season.

The Giants tonight travel to face Wakefield (5.45) in a game that's being played as a curtain-raiser to the Super League clash.

Coach Chris Plume's side are guaranteed second spot in the table and are determined to produce a top-class display tonight to ensure they are in the perfect shape for the play-offs.

They will travel to face minor champions Warrington in two weeks (the date to be confirmed), with the winners straight through to the Grand Final and the losers having a second bite of the cherry.

And football manager Stuart Sheard is hoping a final date can be secured at the first time of asking.

"We've had a very solid season and been chasing Warrington all the way," said Sheard.

"It would be good to finish on a high with a top performance against Wakefield tonight and then beat Warrington in the play-offs.

"The boys are looking in good shape, but we know they'll have to be at their best because it took a big effort to beat Wakefield at home earlier in the season."

Included in the side tonight are Bolu Fagborun, Thomas Hemingway and Jason Southwell, who have all spent the last two months training full-time with the Super League squad.

And they will be expected to take the lead as the Giants seek that timely play-off boost.
